We will now see the differences between Teamwork and Collaborative Work::
TEAMWORK
Teamwork is a structure of interaction that facilitates the achievement of a goal where the interaction among participants is given with a certain degree of commitment and the process is directed by someone like the teacher, the answers or solutions given point towards a single acceptable answer, involves group work, assignment of specific tasks and plenary sessions to share results.
- Establishes groups where not everyone works equally.
- Facilitates the most educated member to take charge of others who are not as advanced.
- Subtracts hours of teaching work.
- Causes unstable levels of motivation.
- It does not substantially improve the level of the people who need it.
- Generates rote and superficial learning.
- Have a common objective, know it and agree with the group.
- Cooperation is needed among all the members involved.
- It is necessary to have a great communication among the members.
- Team spirit.
- Interest in the result of the work.
- Homogeneous groups
- Group responsibility
- Interpersonal skills are not required.
COLLABORATIVE WORK
Collaborative work is work in which a group of people contribute their ideas and knowledge in order to achieve a common goal. What is pursued in collaborative work is the production of knowledge and not so much the optimization of results. Its work dynamics also differ fundamentally in that in collaborative work, figures such as the leader or coordinator arise spontaneously and are not rigidly defined; it is a more flexible way of working that allows different results to be achieved (not necessarily better) than teamwork.
- Learning as much as possible.
- Interest in the maximum performance of all its members.
- Heterogeneous groups.
- Individual responsibility.
- Active subject.
- Shared leadership.
- Learning of social and communicative skills.
- Groups are formed.
- Definition of roles.
- Discussion, debates, consensus, agreements, etc. are promoted.
- Each member contributes ideas, knowledge, talents, etc.
- Time control.
- Dynamic and social.
- Requires evaluation according to the objectives.
- Self and co-evaluation.
